True Fact: A lot of cultures around the world do not smile for pictures. It tends to be more of an English speaking thing.

2nd Day

First the Missionary Work:

So blogger always uploads my pictures always out of order. But anyways we went to a church in one of the poorest parts of Mexico City. I love these people.

It was her 14th b-day.

It was also Father's Day and they had all the kids get up and give stuff to their dads.

Happy Fathers Day! Yay!

These kids honestly rock!

Some of the more touristy stuff.

Have I ever told you how much I love Catherals? I promise you I have, it is in an earlier post.

I forget who this guy is, but he is kind of a big deal.

David (Hands down the coolest little kid EVER!) and Kari and I. We basically rock. I will try and put a better picture of her up.

I am going to try and do this in chunks.

1st day (or the day we left)

First of all meet the team

It is mostly freshmen and sophmores which meant I was a student leader. It rocked.

This is us trying to figure out where one of the passports went. Thankfully that was quickly found. A direct answer to prayer.

This is Ali.

She is a lot like her sister Audra.

Enough said.

Aubury, Ali, Maddie.

Rutger is on the left, he has a lot of hair and is half Iranian.

Trevor only dresses Emo. (note this is the only day he had straight hair because of the humidity it curled. An emo with curly hair is really funny.)

The one on the right is Kari (brown hair), she was my partner in crime as we were both student leaders. The one on the left (blondish hair) is Rebekah. She makes me laugh a lot.

This is Julia. She is the daughter of our Team Leaders and is the cutest little girl you have ever met in your entire life. Don't even argue. She didn't go on the trip, but I took a picture of her anyways.

Have I ever told you how much I love my sista from another mista?

For those of you who don't know

I was in Texcoco Mexico. It was amazing.

Cool things...
1. Catholic Churches (I am not Catholic but they are pretty awesome.)
2. I was a leader.
3. Good Mexican food.
4. Markets
5. Walking the plaza and preforming our mimes.
6. Talking with the kids at the school.
7. Little Ali had her (I am going to massacre this) Quinceneros (15 b-day) down there and it is a huge deal.
8. New man bag.
9. Cool Aztec Temples.
I am too lazy to keep going.

Most of you probably will not care that much.

I actually find this really funny. Watch the United States get destroyed in the most popular sport in the world. I don't really care about the stupid people who say "Soccer is stupid". Try saying that to the other 7 billion people on this planet. There is a reason why it is called "World Cup" and nothing more. There is no need to say "World Cup of Soccer".

Soccer has the craziest fans, hands down. One of the coaches was quoted saying "Soccer is not a matter of life and death, it is much more serious than that."

The only thing that has annoyed me so far is the ignorant sports reporters who know nothing about soccer. Thank God that they have Julie Foudy (Won the Womens World Cup for USA) on ESPN because none of those guys know what they are talking about.

As of right now, the USA is losing to the Czech Republic 0 to 3. I really think it is hilarious because most people from the United States would not think Czech Republic to have a very good team, but it rocks.

However, I am an England supporter along with other European countries (except Germany)
Shane supports all spanish speaking countries in the western hemisphere.
Brent is kind of scattered.

I must admit that South and Central America are not doing too bad this year. I was hoping Costa Rica might beat Germany by some strange event, but at least they did not lose too bad.

Paraguay held my England team to only 1 goal which kept me really nervous all game. (Do Better England!!!)

Biggest upset yet has been the draw between Trinidad/Tobago vs Sweden. Sweden was suppose to dominate, but they didn't. I really want Trinidad to make it to quaterfinals or semifinals because that would be awesome.

Reality Check

Monday, June 05, 2006

And I am going to live there in the fall.

I thought this article was funny. It confirms what everyone already knew about the North East and their driving. Other things I would like to point out:
1. Older Drivers are not more likely to pass a driving test.
2. Colorado is 15th on the list, which is not bad, however we are tied with Indiana so it is not exactly a great sign.
3. Rhode Island is dead last at 51. More proof that it is the worst state in the union. That and it took Kate.

Dontcha wish your puppy was cute like mine?

Um...

I was putting up decorations today for my graduation party and I realized I forgot to send half of the list of invitations. Anyone who reads this would be invited so go ahead and come and bring your families. It is 3pm-6pm on Saturday June 3rd (Tomorrow). I am sorry to the people I did not get the invitations out to, but I hope you can make it. Thanks.
